Special Needs Cats
Alan is a young Munchkin who needs thyroid medication. He is very tiny - perhaps 6 pounds - and loves nothing better than to climb on your lap.
Cimarron was abandoned east of the Bend Airport. He's quite senior and needs a daily insulin injection for diabetes, but is easy to treat. He loves people in spite of their poor treatment of him, and comes running, in his old cat manner, when someone enters the room. He is also called 'quacker' because he sounds like the AFLAC duck when he talks to you. He'd love to spend the rest of his years sitting in a sunny spot or next to his person, watching TV or snoozing.
Constance is a senior cat who wants nothing more than to hold down your couch or chair and keep you company. She's quiet and well-mannered, but quite shy around children. She has been with CRAFT a long time and is a volunteer favorite.
Dusty was the oldest from the Munchkin rescue. She's probably 15 years old, but very active and vocal. She needs thyroid pills twice a day, but takes them easily in a treat.
Linus is a gentle giant who manages okay around the other cats, but would love to be a lap cat in a quiet home, which is the life he knew previously.
MacArthur, so named because he looked like he had been through a war, was found abandoned, struggling to survive with almost no vision. One eye is completely non-functional and he has perhaps 10% vision in the other. He is now being treated and will soon need a quiet home where he can feel secure.
Mamas and her sister BooBoo were surrendered by people who lost their home. BooBoo was adopted, but Mamas is still seeking that secure forever home. She is about 10 years young and declawed.
Misty is a very sweet middle-aged cat that has a recurring dental problem that requires occasional treatment or medication. She is tiny and loves attention.
Morris came to CRAFT with little or no hearing. He does not cope well with the other cats, and would be much more comfortable being the only cat, in an adult home.
Pixie is a tiny adult cat who is having difficulty getting over her shyness of people. Someone on his way out of town, who stopped off a side road near Sisters to answer the call of nature, noticed 4 boxes taped up tightly behind the bushes, and one of the boxes moved. Pixie and her babies were the occupants of those boxes. He called 911, who put him in touch with CRAFT. It was the coldest night all year, already at minus 6 degrees, and these cats could not have survived the night.
Winky was going to be put down at a shelter because he had an eye that was so damaged it had to be removed immediately. He is not that comfortable around other cats and would be happiest in a home where he can be king.
