adopting CRAFT cats
choosing a cat
Many people make their choice of a new cat for their family based on the cat's appearance ... color, hair-length, breed, only to find that the cat's personality doesn't fit very well with their family's lifestyle.
It's a good idea to think about your family's lifestyle and what kind of personality you are looking for in a cat, prior to coming to the cattery. Our volunteers can help match you with the most suitable cat for your family. For example, older, less-energetic cats, and declawed cats might be suitable for an elderly person looking for a lap cat. Kittens do best in active families, and thrive when adopted with another kitten companion to play with.
Keep an open mind, spend some time interacting with the cats (which roam free in the cattery) and ask questions about any cats you are interested in to ensure that they are a good match for your family.
