Cat Rescue, Adoption & Foster Team of Bend, Oregon

Adoption

CRAFT has many adult cats and kittens available for adoption. Most of the cats were abandoned by their previous owners, rescued, and brought to us here at CRAFT. We obtain veterinary care for any sick cats and have all cats spayed or neutered, vaccinated and dewormed, and have an identification microchip inserted. A complimentary veterinary exam is provided through the generosity of one of several participating local veterinarians. When you bring home your new cat or kitten, you can be assured that they will not contribute to the cat overpopulation problem.

Visit the Cattery

Most Adult cats roam "free" in the CRAFT cattery, so visitors can observe personalities quickly. This open environment makes it easy to interact with, bond with ... and fall in love with that special cat. Older kittens are also "free" in their portion of the cattery. Small kittens and kittens with their mothers are usually in foster homes and not at the main cattery. Contact CRAFT to find out what kittens are available and when, and to arrange a visit to the foster home(s). Visit us any Saturday or Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm to find your special cat or kitten.

Special Needs

Some of our cats have special needs. Special needs cats may have disabilities, for instance they may be deaf. They may need daily medications or other daily medical care. Some are very shy and may need extra socialization to bring them out their shells. Please inquire about our special needs cats. They deserve loving homes too!

Feral/Barn Cats

What is a feral cat? A feral cat is a domestic cat that has been born in the wild or reverted to wild behavior after having been abandoned and fending for itself. Feral cats that are exposed to humans on a regular basis may be semi-tame and may approach humans to be fed or may even allow humans to touch them. Most feral cats however are very fearful of humans and will avoid them.

Feral and semi-feral cats can make good barn cats, helping to keep rodent populations in check. Feral/Barn cats are ONLY adopted out to GOOD homes where they will be provided shelter, food and water on a daily basis. Feeding a feral cat will not reduce its desire to catch prey. Feral cats must be introduced to their new surroundings slowly and cannot be immediately turned loose. CRAFT will deliver your new barn cats and will provide instructions on acclimating them to their new home.
